Wer wir sind und was wir tun

Hallo zusammen

Sandra

Aloha!
I am having some kinetic art and video work exhibited in the exhibition 'Mama's in the hood'.
The show is opening tonight at 6.30 at Pine Rivers Gallery, Strathpine.

Sorry for the short notice! if you cannot make it, check out the workshop program that runs while the show is on. The workshops are for moms/ dads and kids. Most of them are free run by one of the participating artists. The exhibition will be on until the 56th of November.
I am also facilitating a beginners animation workshop on saturday the 5th of Nov.

There will also be artist talks on Saturday the 15th Oct. and the screening of the movie 'who does she think she is'. We will have afternoon tea ready and also time for discussion and feedback about the movie.

Storyline of 'who deos she think she is'

In a half-changed world, women are often forced to choose: Mothering or working? Your children's wellbeing or your own own? Responsibility or self expression? Who Does She Think She Is?, a documentary by Academy Award winning filmmaker Pamela Tanner Boll, features five fierce women who refuse to choose. Through their lives, we explore some of the most problematic intersections of our time: mothering and creativity, partnering and independence, economics and art. Along the way, the film invites us to consider both ancient legacies of women worshipped as cultural muses and more modern times where most people can't even name a handful of female artists. In the end, the diverse women in the film demonstrate that our creativity and our caregiving are not mutually exclusive, but deeply connected. In fact, their co-existence might just be the key to finishing the job. Written by Courtney Martin
